Hi all. My lower balljoints have some play in them and as we're moving to qld soon I need to fix them to pass rwc. Just wondering where the cheapest place is to get wishbones? Not concerned with them being genuine just quality. There's a few kits on ebay but I'm highly dubious of getting top and bottom cheaper than just the bottom at ebspares, alfamen and alfaworkshop. Thanks

Hi Alfa81, it might be helpful in order to provide any advice if you could tell us which model Alfa you have.   Just for the record I previously replaced my top and lower wishbones (control arms) for my 156, purchasing from EB Spares.  As far as I was concerned the price was fine, cheaper than available here in Oz and the delivery time was less than a week from confirmation of order.

I had looked at some of the Ebay specials but in discussing this both with my mechanic and the guys at EB, I decided against those on Ebay.  Quality being pretty ordinary I was advised.  Up to you of course.
Current:
2003 JTS 156 sportwagon
1969 Giulia sedan (x2)
1969 AC Fiat 124 sport

Past: '76 Alfetta 1.8 GT
        '76 Alfetta 1.8 Sedan
        ' 73 2L Berlina

GTVeloce

I replaced mine from International Auto Parts (IAP) in the states for both an Alfetta and a 75. Cheap, quick and a quality part. Ignore the name; they specialise in Alfa and Fiat parts.

Sorry 156

You can get Genuine with Alfa Romeo cast into the arms, these are made by TRW.
You can get Genuine TRW, with Alfa Romeo removed from the arms.
If you don't use these 2, then use a well known brand.
Consider replacing the pivot bolts as well as if they are worn, they can rattle.
Try a few different suppliers, as the aussie dollar has gone down recently, making overseas suppliers more expensive, Colin.

Dom at Italian Auto Spares in Brunswick will look after you..... I'm pretty sure they'll post the parts to you.

Alternatively, EB Spares - UK, Alfaworkshop - UK, Autolusso - UK,  Shop4parts - UK or Ricambi - Germany (ricambi.alfisti.net) all have great prices.
Good luck..

P.S. the wishbones and arb links arrived Monday and they are indeed TRW or they went to the trouble of forging the packaging and pamphlets that I can't read.

Get the receivor drier changed as well, as its like changing the filter in your engine when you do an oil change.
The pollen filters may need changing as well, as a blocked one can impede airflow, Colin.
