I am looking for some Simmons rims for my gtv6. Does anyone know if these fit OK on my car without any mods to car. Size I have come across is 16x8 but my current 16x7 Alfa front rims come very close to the guard when turning.

I have a set of 17x7.5 simmons on my 85 Alfetta, and they seem to work, even though I get constant critisism from fellow VRA members. I think you should look at your tyre dimensions . I have a set of 215x40 P7s and they have a rolling diameter close to the original 195x60s

I have managed to shoe horn in a set of 17x8 with 225/45 rubber. Tight fit. But it is the offset that matters most - mine are ET35. And there is SFA clearance, but they fit... and that is what counts  ;D

I have 16 x 8 Simmons with 225 x 45 x 16 tyres on my bitumen rally car. It is lowered very slightly (25mm) and has 28mm torsion bars.
The rears are fine. The fronts touch the guards at the front very often when turning and other places very occasionally. I just beat the guard lips back into place and don't worry about the paint. It doesn't worry me. It might not be ideal for a pristine road car.
I'm always looking for 16 x 8 as that is my prefered competition wheel / tyre combination.
I you don't want them, PM me with the details and I will buy them.
Regards
Ian

Mine are OZ Racing Superturismo - guy I bought them from had them on a 156 or 159 (can't recall) in NSW.

Storm - if you live in the Nth East Adelaide you probably see me around a bit and I go out to Mallala when I can (spectate only), go on club runs etc.

I get plenty of compliments on the wheels - I think they really suit the style of the car - totally changes the look of the car from standard wheels.  ;D
