okay,
thinking down the track of acquiring a cheap set of 15" x 5 stud alloys to suit an 86 GTV6.

Looking of or inspiration as to what style people looks best and will be readily available it minimal cost.  Not interested in tyres at this point especially if i was to truck them interstate to Perth.

why not go down the 17 inch path, and get some gta wheels and paint them black, i personally know of one car going around that looks fantastic.

On GTV6.com there was a thread about widened factory GTV6 wheels. The added width was on the outside of the rim so it gave the wheel a bit of aggressive dish about it. Probably not cheap do get done and legalities could be interesting, but I thought they really suited the car.

http://alfagtv6.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=2045 shows the wheels, but pictures of them on the car were in another thread.

Was only a joke obviuosly. But hey cheap tyres and wheels why not?  (insert sarcasim here) the worst combo ever lmao

On a serious note i actually have a set of 16's off a my2000 gtv you may like. They have good tyres with about 60 percent tread. Not sure if youre interested but you said cheap so 200 bucks and there yours.

david can you stick a pic up of them, you can get a set with reasonable tyres for around 200-300 most days of the week

I have been looking for some wheels for my current 116 project and have settled on the 17in Ti wheels off a 147 or 156. I think they will look fantastic and are a simple change. I am a little concerned about too much loss of ride quality so will wait and see. I have seen them advertised for around 1k for wheels and tyres so perhaps not what you would call cheap.

for good second had rims with reasonable tyres 16's or 17's should not go over $500 otherwise your getting ripped off

If they are off your 2000 GTV that will mean 4 stud not 5 and a different pcd so wont fit a GTV6 unless you have changed hubs.  still a pic will verify all.

thanks

Ye ill post a pic up later. Dehne i agree you can pick them up any day of the week for 200 but remeber to allow another 20-50 to machine the centres out to the larger alfetta hub size. Depends how nice the machinast is feeling on the day i guess.
Ive actually got 8 of these rims, but one set has been machined out by hand by the looks of it and one or 2 rims may have slight buckles which is the norm for the newer alfa alloys. You could live with them but it depends how anal you like to be and if for 50 bucks you really want to complain lol ive ran both sets on my car at some stage and there is slight vibration after 100km but like i said earlier, cheAp is exactly that and any of these newer alfa wheels are likely in the same cond, wether the owner wants to mention it or not

Ill post pics shortly

david sammartino

16x6.5" im sure weve all seen these rims before, but they are cheap. one el cheapo set 50 bucks mixed tyres 2o5/50/16 anybody desperate for rims, maybe one or two buckled ,can live with...... one pretty good set with good tyres 205/45/16 for200. if anyone wants more detailed pics as the wheels are now off the car i can do so.

scott.venables

They look better than I expected.  What offset are they?

Cheers, Scott
