Broadford this Saturday. Around 60 entries - over 1/3 of them Alfas!
This event will be the first time AROCA (Vic) will be performing all Timekeeping duties in-house. From this point on, we plan to be pretty well self-sufficient with regard to Timing. As such, AROCA (Vic) needs assistance from those interested in the role of timekeepers at our Sprint events.
AROCA (Vic) is requesting anyone interested in becoming a qualified timekeeper contact me at their earliest convenience.
AROCA (Vic), in conjunction with input from Timetronics, will provide training at sprint events and at formally organised training classes. A background in Motorsport would be an advantage, however certainly not a pre-requisite.
If you however have any interest in Motorsport, and in particular volunteering for event management and you want to learn new skills and help the club, this may be for you.
Ideal skills would include but not be limited to some level of background in or exposure to IT, Project Management, Accounting, Process control and Analytical skills.
AROCA (Vic) WILL BE CONDUCTING PARADE LAPS this Saturday at Broadford. These will take place around mid day - probably over the lunch break around 12:30pm. This will be a great opportunity to run under controlled conditions at a Motorsport Venue very close to Melbourne. Drivers for the Parade Laps MUST attend a very brief meeting prior to entering the track. The 2 - 3 laps planned WILL be run behind a PACE CAR at a maxumum speed of 80kph. A COURSE CAR will run at the rear. ALL car MUST run between the Pace Car and the Course Car.
While at Broaddford, Please come up to the Timekeeping office and see how it all happens. The track cafe does great burgers and sandwiches! Lunch amongst the Alfas is very rewarding.
See you Saturday. Broadford is only 45 minutes from Melbourne.
