Does anyone know the history of the Alfa 33 16V S Permanent 4 up for sale on Carsales at the moment? Link below. Pretty crazy asking price of $12,800 but I'm still keen to know the history if someone has some insight. I recall seeing that number plate MAC33S on the forum at some point but can't seem to find it now.

Cheers, Brent

Spotted an Alfamotive sticker on the side skirts, if that helps.

The car was previously owned by a guy named Sam-had a white 16v as well,
It had plenty of money spent on it, from what I was told it was bored out to nearly 2.0 litres, had fancy exhaust system with Mercedes catalytic converters, however pushing 18 months ago now it had a bad flat spot in the power band, Sam said his 16v was much much faster.
I'll dig into the archives and post what i know.

Rare car, just get her insured with a high agreed value, this car should really only go up in price.
Pics on the net of this car had it on big 17 wheels, I prefer the stock p4 ones :)

Only just caught up with this thread again. Thanks for the info AROCA33. Anything further you have on the car would be appreciated.

The dealer wasn't initially keen on my offer - but we'll see how it pans out if it sits in his yard for a while.

Cheers,

Brent

It looks like the same P4 is back on Carsales.

And sold again by the looks of it. The initial sale fell through. I made another offer but it was a bit too low for the dealer. These are great little cars but when you consider you can buy an 8 or 9 year old GT for the money he was asking it just doesn't stack up.

I'll sort out the engine in my FWD 33 16V and get back to enjoying the fantastic exhaust crackle.

Should have the 16V engine back in our Sprint racer in a couple of weeks too. Nicely balanced and mildly ported, it should be a good reliable little track machine.

Love the comments on 33's especially the P4. Anything Alfa with a Boxer engine is now getting very noticed especially in Europe!  These Alfas are only just starting to get more valuable, give them another 5- 10 Years and prices will be right up there.
Many people always seem to squirm when prices seem to be "too high" but for one minute don't seem  take the time to calculate or even research the work that is involved in restoring or even preserving a car ( any car) in pristine or as new condition !
if the P4 is in excellent condition and is a real original example $12,500 is not a bad asking price !

Considering that it would cost on average around $25 K to restore any Boxer engine Alfa to "factory condition" NEW . That is also if you can find all the parts required for the restoration.
