Title: wanted- alfa 1.7 block
Post by: Quino on October 23, 2012, 05:00:18 PM
Hi, finished stripping a 1.7 carbed engine down for a rebuild to find pitted bores any help locating a good block to do the job would be greatly appreciated!  Boring/ oversized pistons are out of my budget unfortunately.

1.7 blocks are sought after items, find out how much another one is with honed block and new rings, see how much yours would cost to get honed and or bored and honed and new pistons and rings, Colin.

Hi Colin, so far I've honed and the pits are not acceptable. New dry liners would be $150 each. Haven't been able to locate oversized pistons. Boring a 1.5 to fit may be an option but have been told its risky.  All my options are costly.
