Title: Dodgy Wrecker
Post by: colcol on September 28, 2012, 03:48:11 PM
Recently i went to a wrecker in Melbourne and i feel i should warn everyone about it, i have seen it advertised on community TV, and its theme is that he is some sort of Pirate, not the Somalian type pirate of today, but the Spanish type Pirate from days of yore, you pay your $2 entry fee, and you have to agree to 'conditions of entry', this includes,
1. No oxy acetelene or porta power or power tools,
2. No taken parts into the yard, without them being marked,
3. All tool boxes and bags and overhalls to be searched on exit,
4. No bare feet or thongs,
5. No taking of food in and or eating in the yard,
6. No taking in Alcohol drinks and or drinking,
7. No swearing or arguing with other patrons,
8.Check the price board before removing parts,
9.Parts are complete assemblies, no dissasembly of parts permitted,
10.No fighting with other patrons.
11.No having sex. [i am not making this up], Colin.

Seriously though, they must have caught someone 'on the job', to put a rule like that on the entry conditions list, i would never have seen it, except there were a lot of customers there that day, and i was last in the line, i was almost going to take a picture, but one of the rules is no cameras, [to stop people taking photos of engageing couples], i got what i went there for, [no not sex], a Commodore tail light, Colin.

Ah the joys of such places.

Imagine that same deal but all Alfas ! - I recall A-Twins many years ago - you could go wild in there picking Alfa stuff.

Pick a part in Kilsyth years ago. Alfetta sedan with near new Koni yellows.  $25 a pair - because they were not "gas" shocks. Gas shocks were more expensive :)

Pinch a Part in Kilsyth is good, just around the corner from work and no rules on copulation in the wrecking yard, highly recommended, Colin.

Oh - that's where we got some Volvo 4-spots as well. Still have them if anyone is interested.....
