can somone confirm what a 1978 alfetta gtv 2ltr's final drive ratio should be?

or what method i can use to count the teeth on the pinon / crowhwheel to work out the ratio?

Pretty sure it's 4.1:1

Hi Brad,

Divide the number of teeth on the crown wheel by the number of teeth on the pinion, and you have your ratio.

example:

in this case, lets say the crown wheel has 41/10 stamped on it's edge.

this is interpreted as:

41 teeth on crown wheel
10 teeth on pinion

41 divided by 10 = 4.1

ratio = 4.1 turns of the pinion to every single turn of the crown wheel

for this example, ratio is 4.1:1
