Try a wrecker for a Alfa 33 drive shaft and cv joint, you should have a good lot to choose from, they don't tend to flex or crack around the struts, they flex and crack around the chassis rails, look for cracks where there is a cutout in the rail for the driveshaft, but if its bling you want, then fit a strut brace, when you fit the new driveshaft assembly, you have to do up and undo the driveshaft nut to about 185 lbs per sqaure foot, [ tight!], you will need a big gorilla torque wrench, an impact socket, as the standard socket will break at about 100 lbs, and  the heavy duty impact socket won't go thru a alloy wheel, so you will need a steel wheel with the larger centre opening, to get the socket thru, and you will need new driveshaft nuts, because they are 'staked', or burred over to stop them coming loose, but if the nut has only 1 use, then you might be able to use the left on the right and the right on the left, or at a pinch, put a washer on the back of the nut, so it pulls up at a different spot, or you could have the back of the nut machined, so that it pulls up at a different spot, the last time i purchased one of these nuts, was from an old school Alfa Dealer, and they were about $30 each in 1992, there are some new ones on ebay, Colin.

the car makes a feint metal type noise from the drive shaft that popped out

i think it is damaged obviously haha im lucky robert at manning motors in brookvale sydney has one for me

top bloke and a great speacialist to say

i tightened the allen bolts in myself when i did my engine rebuild i used the small allen keys but i must have not tightened them enough as i was working on my back on hard concrete and found that the most difficult part of my rebuild eg bloody knucles and ripped skin haha

yeh im after a strut brace for the car for looks aswell as handling im guesiing if they really do anything ? i have found one from omp in england for $200 so that isnt too bad

I don't think the strut brace will do anything. The suds, sprints and 33's already have adequate bracing between the struts.

I would be more inclined to fit the front chassis rail support bars that are fitted to the 16v 33's. Unfortunately they don't just bolt in.

Looks are not my department. Save the money and go buy yourself new front struts instead.
