Hi all! I've been having on-going idle issues with my beloved alfa 33 16v for a while now, thus far I've replaced all vaccum hoses and had the air flow meter mixtures reset to no avail. I also tried another air flow meter with no success. Once the car warms up after 10 minutes or so the idle starts to jump and sit pretty high circa 1500rpm...has anyone had this experience before? any advice would be good!
Hi there,
Most likely it will be the Idle control valve attached to the Intake manifold at the top of the engine , its very common for this part to play up , the only other component that can cause this is the Throttle position sensor / Switch located at the base of the right front intake tube of the intake manifold .
change the Idle valve first - you can get one from Monza Motors in Bayswater .
great! I'll try that thanks :)
