Title: restoring a car
Post by: indica1 on November 21, 2007, 09:30:20 AM
in restoring a car is it better to get the mechanicals right or get the body right first
also i wondering is it better to keep interior looking original or customize it
i was thinking  because my car became a antique this year (77 gtv) better to keep all original
this is not for resale reasons as i will never sell my alfa
btw you people are right alfa does mean always looking for another  lol

Well the body is pretty important as this is the hardest bit to replace/fix and in a 77gtv rust will be a major consideration.  Mechanicals can be fairly readily obtained/fixed with lots of suppliers and knowledge out there.  If the interior is reasonably original then keep it original - there aren't many unmolested interiors out there - particularly in the early 116 gt/gtv's
