This always happened to me when I would lift up a 164 on the hoist. Once I put it down the front sat higher than the rear.
The solution is a simply lap around the block to allow the suspension to re-adjust.

I usually have this trouble with my 33 and 156, and the cure is for me to sit in it and that makes the springs  'clunk' back in their proper ride height, sometimes the springs can move off their seat, and this will require a drive round the block and over a few speed humps, frightening sometimes when you forget and the first corner or speed hump the car goes 'clunk', happens more with lowered and stiffer springs, as the overall height of the springs allow them to move off the seat when the suspension is on full droop, some racers put straps in to hold the springs in position, Colin.

Yes as Choderboy mentions, just reverse vehicle down driveway and back and normal ride height will be returned, this always happens and is normal when raising the front wheels off the ground  :)
