I'm looking to replace the rubber boot that insulates between the gear lever and the inside of the car on my GTV rebuild. The one I have has is torn in a few places. I am presuming you can't just buy such a thing off the shelf and I haven't seen it advertised anywhere.
Thanks
Julian
I don't have that exact boot but I do have the small donut shaped boot that covers the lever and pin lower down. NOS of course.
GTVeloce, I used a shaped rubber seal typically used on house roof around venting pipes.
Bought the smallest diameter available at Bunnings and cut a very small hole for the gear shift lever.
Thanks Kartone, that sounds like good idea. How did you affix it to the car? Screws? Pop rivets? And maybe a bit of silicone to seal it?
Thanks Pancho but my lower boot is in good shape at this stage.
Cheers
Julian
Is this what you are looking for?

That is exactly what I was looking for! However, I have gone down the path kartone suggested of using a roofing seal which seems to work very well.
Can anyone recognise what the white car in the background is?
GTVeloce: self-tapping SS screws on existing holes with silicone to provide weather-tightness.
Looks like a DeTomaso Pantera
