I am looking for some Simmons rims for my gtv6. Does anyone know if these fit OK on my car without any mods to car. Size I have come across is 16x8 but my current 16x7 Alfa front rims come very close to the guard when turning.
depends on offset and tire size, ive hade 17x8's on my gtv no issue
are u still interested in mine? please let me know, as id like to advertise them if not...
Brett yes of course still want them.
Brad sorry :-)
I have a set of 17x7.5 simmons on my 85 Alfetta, and they seem to work, even though I get constant critisism from fellow VRA members. I think you should look at your tyre dimensions . I have a set of 215x40 P7s and they have a rolling diameter close to the original 195x60s
John
I have managed to shoe horn in a set of 17x8 with 225/45 rubber. Tight fit. But it is the offset that matters most - mine are ET35. And there is SFA clearance, but they fit... and that is what counts ;D
marty and john, any chance of putting up a pic of your cars?
I have 16 x 8 Simmons with 225 x 45 x 16 tyres on my bitumen rally car. It is lowered very slightly (25mm) and has 28mm torsion bars.
The rears are fine. The fronts touch the guards at the front very often when turning and other places very occasionally. I just beat the guard lips back into place and don't worry about the paint. It doesn't worry me. It might not be ideal for a pristine road car.
I'm always looking for 16 x 8 as that is my prefered competition wheel / tyre combination.
I you don't want them, PM me with the details and I will buy them.
Regards
Ian

Hi Brad - old piccy but gives you a bit of an idea...
I've seen this car around before.
nice wheels. pretty similar to my wheels, anyone know off hand what these wheels are off (156?) and their offset?
Arnt they the same. ? And i thought there where 156 turismo wheels.
Brad's look like GT wheels, 156/147 Update TI have finer spokes
Mine are OZ Racing Superturismo - guy I bought them from had them on a 156 or 159 (can't recall) in NSW.
Storm - if you live in the Nth East Adelaide you probably see me around a bit and I go out to Mallala when I can (spectate only), go on club runs etc.
I get plenty of compliments on the wheels - I think they really suit the style of the car - totally changes the look of the car from standard wheels. ;D

Last time I seen it was rundle street, I go to mallala also but I watch the drifting.
You taking your car to Alfas in clover ?
My GTV has 16 x 8 Simmons, unsure of offset.
I had to roll the guards to that they cleared. Rear dedion also has some slight camber.

very clean car, would look better with a lowering.
I would love too but the roll center just does not agree :(
I believe Vin Sharp does ball joints to change the roll centre, perhaps someone on here has used them or is more knowledgeable about them, or try him at Pace engineering the details are on the sponsors page.
I have simmons b45's, not sure on size but I believe my car has no mods to guards etc.
Hi Shane and Tristan, what size tires are you running?
225 x 45 x 16.
I have had 235x45x17 on the rear with no problem, and that on standard car with lower pace springs
Does anyone know if there are any issues running big brakes with Simmons rims? Looking to fit rx7 4pot or Volvo 4 pot calipers with 164 rotors.
thanks Marino
I've got Volvo 4-pots and 164 discs on mine, and run 15x7 Simmons with no problems.
I will post up some pIcs this weekend when I upgrade my brakes to Alfa 75 brakes, with my b45s on my giulietta. If anyone is interested in some 17x7 4x98 wheels let me know, painted professionally in any colour of your choice 2pac automotive paint.
