Title: 1991 Alfa 164Q - EOI wrecking - QLD
Post by: LaStregaNera on May 31, 2012, 09:25:55 PM
205,000km, recently rebuilt and functioning electronic dampers, headers (modified 24valve units), custom exhaust, Squadra chip.
Has a minor warped rotor that will be sorted out before sale.
Has had the bottom half colour coded at some point, comes with 17"x7 Stillauto wheels with good 235/45s and the factory 15" "Baloni slicers" with reasonable rubber on them.
Is in reasonable shape for something that has spent a bit of time living in the sun in Harvey Bay (one of the previous owners), but not what you'd call immaculate.
Drives brilliantly - would never have thought a big FWD sedan could be so much fun - but it is.
Here's a pic of it when the stillautos first went on:

blew it up - might put a new motor in it, might part it, for now - anyone interested?

Forgot to mention, did the water pump and timing belt at 200,000km.

Selling it because new job doesn't need a daily driver and need to scale back the fleet a bit...

So, sanity check - the only 164Qs on carsales are 9.5 and 10k - so 5k-ish is a cheap Q!

So, this went bang. Will be parting it out soon if anyone wants any 164Q parts.

Tis a risk with anything you buy. I was unaware of the gauges reading incorrectly, and it popped a headgasket pretty badly.

SO, I might wind up putting a new motor in this, but in the mean time, anyone interested in parts?

Ohhh, rebuilt struts!  I saw your posts on AlfaBB about this.  If you end up parting it out (which would be sad) I'd be interested in those, plus the sunroof lights/switches surround (the part that goes all gooey) if it's not gooey.

Black interior - I have to say the leather is not particularly healthy - i'd always been on the lookout for a better set or a good set of 166 seats - the fronts I think are a bolt in, the rear would have to be reworked by a motor trimmer to suit.

Non-sunroof car - but the roof console i got sent (and fitted) a while back appears to be from a sunroof car, and isn't sticky! I have an set of seal carriers here - can order the seals and perform a rebuild on your struts if I don't wind up parting it.

Yep, the tow cover is there - goes with the rest of the bodykit I'm afraid.
I don't think *anybody* has a good front window demister vent - mine simply disintegrated when I pulled it out to glue the cracks and tidy it up. Had planned on ordering one from Alfissimo in the USA.

Would also consider selling the whole thing, or swapping for a 90 or 75 or alfetta?

OK, for those who've asked, photos of the interior and engine bay.
