Looking to put a 156 GTA motor in my 1985 gtv6 and my research tells me I need a 3.0Litre flywheel to ensure proper engine balance.

If anyone can verify would be great.

Hi Marino,

I have a spare flywheel for an Alfa 75 Twin Spark... not sure if that is significantly different to a 3 litre, and if it would be of use to you.

Regards,

Nick

OK - hence why I asked.  On a 3 litre 164 engine you can use your 2.5 GTV6 flywheel with a 4mm spacer between the crank and the flywheel.  Not sure but I believe the 3.2 engine is the same - Hugh Harrison at Monza Motors (site sponsor) has done at least one 3.2 to GTV6 conversion so give him a call to verify.

What you do then is get the 2.5 flywheel and front pulley balanced to match the ones that come off the 3.2 engine.  Voila - balanced bottom end.  Just like J-Lo  ;)
