Title: Tyres for 105 GT Junior
Post by: Roo504 on March 05, 2012, 12:54:48 PM
G'day everyone,

This is my first post, so I'll introduce myself first. My name is Andrew, I live in north-west Sydney and have recently bought a 1968 105 GT Junior. I'll be joining the NSW Alfa Club next week at the meeting, and I plan to put the 105 on club registration and do a few sprints in it. I also own a Peugeot 406 coupe (2000 model), and a V6 turbo Peugeot 504 (1972 model).

I need to buy some new tyres for the 105 and I'd like to know what other owners suggest. I don't want to use R tyres, but I would like something which gives very good grip and road holding, and is good in the wet as well. The wheels are Superlites and the tyre size on the car currently is: 195/60R/15.

Any help is appreciated - cheers,
Andrew

V6 turbo Peugeot 504 (1972 model).

You get points for that one :)    A well powered 504 with an extra cog is a wonderful thing :)

I'm running Marangoni Verso's on my Super atm - good range of sizes available to get the rolling diameter you want  - and they seem to perform the same as the Michelin MXs I used to run (and they have a great looking tread pattern)     They're in the mid range as price goes.  No idea what they'd be like on the track after a couple of laps though :)

 Good luck !
