I am in the process of emigrating to Australia to be with my family. I currently have a 3.2 GTV, which I love. I wanted to know if this model was sold in Aus and if there are any dealers \ specialists on the Gold Coast so that I can get it serviced \ parts \ repairs if I do bring it. I contacted the delaer in Southport who were not sure the model was sold and did not fill me with confidence! He was not even aware of the model!
If I can't get parts I will not be bringing it, but I really love the car so it would be great if I hear back with positive news.

I know their was 3.2's sold here as a friend had one not sure on the P3 part though but I would assume all varients where sold here
'P3' is a new one to me. A quick google suggests it is a 'phase 3' or the 2003-on facelift model. I'm fairly sure they were on the market here (could be wrong), although I doubt many were sold.
If you want to know of local parts availability you might like to enquire with another dealer - e.g. Lance Dixon in Melbourne +61 3 9848 8888 are very helpful and knowledgable. Also with the strong Australian dollar it's become common to privately import many parts from the UK and have them fitted locally.
I doubt you'll have a problem regardless.
The wreckers in the UK are quite good to deal with, but they are called breakers over there, can get this car registed in Australia, even though it doesn't have ADR's compliance?, and how do you go with insurance?, Colin.
Compliance for Australian Design Rules (ADR) should be straight forward, you will need to have somebody 'comply' the vehicle for you prior to inpsection (MOT) and registration. Don't forget to get DoTARs approval to import before you ship ($50./) or the VIN won't exist here and you will never get it registered. Shannons will insure OS imports.
Providing the chassis number to the Aust. Alfa dealer of your choice will let them ID the car (ePer) making it easier for them to provide spares. Note: Alfa Australia are useless, unhelpfull, keep negligible stock and order everything in from Italy at huge markup. UK dealers are saints compared to them. You will find a local Indy who will import spares from the UK and maintain your car.
Unless it's super special to you, a model not available here and you plan to keep it forever I wouldn't bother to bring it over. The Aust. public is suspicious of imports and it will have little or negligible resale value.
That said, I brought my 156JTD over. It can be done. Paperwork is really quite easy and logical. Compliance, registration and insurance also straight forward.
