Hi,
When pressing the on button and src to select the cd changer option, I can't get the changer option to stay. The stereo quickly returns to either the tuner or cd, depending on what was previously in use.
Currently I press the on and src buttons at the same time, holding src until the display appears. CHANGER appears only momentarily.
Can anyone suggest any ideas to get the changer option to remain in place?

Do you have a CD Changer?
As it should only stay as the option, if you have an actual cd changer fitted ... or like me you have an iPod/iPhone device connected.
3.5mm aux in cable, mini iso in the blue/CDC slot. No actual cable, just trying to play my iPod.
What set up do you have? How did you do it?

It plugs straight into the back of Head Unit, where the CD Changer would.

Just so the others know, and as discussed on the other forums, a generic auxiliary cable like this requires the DATA-IN and DATA-OUT terminals 'jumped' (connected). Doing this allows the headunit to recognise that the CHANGER terminal is in use and adds it to your SRC list (CD/tuner/changer). A good way is to use some simple figure-8 wire connected to these terminals, and add a toggle switch.
You can buy bare terminals to suit mini-ISO plugs, to crimp/solder onto your wire.

there is a way of making this work....well this worked for me anyway....
your turn the head unit off and right after turning it back on, hit the SRC butting twice, very quickly.....it may take a few tries...
I ended up buying this unit in the end:

Its not cheap but works better and charges the ipod....its not perfect, just provides back ipod connectivity and doesnt work on iphones.

I just tried your trick of pressing the src twice. It worked twice and when I tried it a few more times, my usual problem of the CHANGER not holding kept happening. Bloody frustrating.
Aftermarket head unit with full iPod compatibility professionally installed is looking more likely with every day!

Yes that system of hitting the SRC button twice is very fiddly and can sometimes take several attempts to work.
I did have to modify the unit i bought on ebay but its a very simple mod, it come with instructions on how to do it. You simple disconnect 2 wires. You need a special security screw driver to open it which was the biggest pain....impossible to find at dick smith etc so got one on ebay for a few bucks.
well worth it....its not a perfect system but i can at least play my iphone/ipod through the stereo without any hassle.
