Title: Alfa 75 spindles
Post by: Mike on January 25, 2012, 10:16:14 AM
hi guys,

I'd like to buy a pair of front spindles for an Alfa 75 ( I assume they are all the same on 75?).  Just after the larger bearings they apparently have.

Price?  What's available?

Cheers
MIke

Hi Mike.  As per Jim K's book, the transaxle spindles come in 26, 29 and 31mm.  31mm was only used in SZ/RZ, 75 Evo and some other special models we didn't get here.  He doesn't say when the change was made form 26 to 29 so you might already have the larger bearings.

Since I have a GT (1976) I suspect I will find I just have 29mm spindles.  That said I do have a set of 1984 Colverleaf spindles so perhaps they will be 29.  Will check that out.
Thanks!

Mike
did you get the spindles?
If not, there is a 75 at 'pick a part' in campbellfield.
As of last week the spindles were still on it.

Thanks Sam, unfortunately I live in Perth now so probably not going to get there any time soon! :-).  Good news though as I forgot that I have spindles off an 85 Alfetta sedan, which should have the larger spindle.  Just need to check.  Thanks though, appreciate it.

Good news, just checked my 1985 Alfetta sedan (cloverleaf) hubs and they have the 29mm shaft.  wont know what the Alfetta GT hubs are until I pull down, but I am betting on them being the 26mm shafts.

Thanks for the help!
