Post by: spider916 on December 11, 2011, 06:38:57 PM
my boot release button doesn't work when pushed
do they have troubles with the switch in the glove box or may be solenoid in the boot
checked all connections seem to be ok
any hints  where to look next

Checked the fuse?, thats the next easiest to check, you say the connectors seem ok, have you checked the  boot release button for continuety, get a multimeter and see you have a circuit when the button is pressed, if all ok go to the boot, and check for 12 volts at the solenoid, Colin.

Does it make a click when pressed like mine does, but rarely opens the boot? If so, it could be a simple case of adjusting the cable.

Check to see if you have 12 volts at your boot solenoid, if not work back to the switch, to see if its sending volts, if not see if you have 12 volts at the switch, if you have 12 volts at the switch, connect the 2 wires together at the switch, if you get 12 volts going to the solenoid the fault is in the solenoid assembly, Colin.
