Title: Hello! to Nunawading and Doncaster, VIC - Alfa Owners
Post by: tanakt on July 23, 2011, 12:31:48 PM
Hi there,

Passed a Landrover Discovery with *white* Alfa 75 on trailer in Doncaster. PM me as I'd like to chat with you about your car/project.

Then passed two Alfa GTVs (one blue and other ???) along Whitehorse Rd coming out of Supercheap. Big "hello" to your both!

Cheers,
Andrew..

I can shed a little bit of light of that one.

I bought a set of Alfa 75 alloys on ebay, the same seller sold a white 75 V6 for $700 to a gentleman driving a Discovery.
I had a quick word with the new owner, he was an older bloke with a bit of time on his hands, plans to get the car roadworthy and use it to commute to the train station (rather than park his XJS there).

I am the new owner of a set of 3 x 6.5'' x 14 alloys and 1 x 5.5'' alloy. Might take me a while to find the missing 6.5''.
Anyone need 1 5.5  ;D

Cheers
Alan

Hi Alfalfa (great name),

Sometimes its just nice to know that there are other people in the area who share the same passion (put a coin in the Italian Car Cliche Jar)...

Hope to see you at a gathering sometime soon.

Guys, I also saw a champagne 75 on a trailer towed by a blue Falcon. Geez the 75 had the biggest GT wing ever :) The whole outfit was headed south on Manningham Rd on Friday arvo.

Anyone?

Hey guys. Long time stalker on here, first time poster. Normally on the ausalfa forum :)

Anyway if you see my silver 156 in the nunawading area give me a yell. I'm always beeping at other alfa's, but most a driven by women and get nothing in return. It's right near the vet on canterbury road (near Brentford sq) who owns a lovely 159 Ti.

Shouldn't be hard to miss. It has a huge dint in the back now :( :(

I saw a mint black GTV (932 series), lowered with xenon lights and a aftermarket exhaust cruising up Springvale to the middleborough intersection. Anyone here?

Probably insurance. I called Paul Rankin from Rankins restorations that was recommended to me by Bruno from Maranello, but he said that AAMI never choose him, and it'll be tough. I'll get a quote tomorrow. Im expecting into the 000's. :(

How the xenons on ur ride man? Better than standard? Did u need a conversion kit?

yes much better and if your dont have projector you get even better light ... but blind everyone! ..

Also I'd do insurance do remember you have to sign for the job when its finished..

and if your looking at buying HID's dont go to autobahn and spend 500 dollars ... Go to www.ebay.com.au  and search (Your globe type) HID kit 55w! .. great add on ! .. anywhere from $30 - $100 and some of them u get warranty but at the price i wouldn't bother ... and take 15 minutes to install all of it.. all it is your original loom the connects into the ballast which produces 40,000 volts and straight to the globe... very simple although mine blew for the first time .. yet i had them in my GTV6 for 2 years and not a problem.. it only blew because i went over some road works and didn't see a ditch and it must of cracked the globe the gas was released. other wise they last years...
