hi all
i want to get rid of the dash in the 90, when i stripped a car there is a crap load of wires there, is there a way to be able to do it myself or should i just get a autosparky to do it for me.
thanks
The best way is to remove every single wire, fuse and relay and then just put back the stuff that you need for a racecar. You need to carefully document the wiring for the ECU, instruments in the dash and ignition system. Just use the wires that you remove initially for the rewire job. To have this done from start to finish by an auto-electrician would probably cost more than any Alfa 90 is worth. Its not a difficult job but it is very very time consuming.
shedding some weight is surely worth a couple of hundred

Yeah Jim's right!
It might cost more than a couple hundred bucks!
:)
what ??? when did 90 go up in price ?
i do get it its just half the time u comment its to stir it up but u also comment wisely, so i can take the sarcasm, personaly and answer the possible legitamate comment here
My guess is it would be a very long winded process, if any one has done it roughly how long did it take ? and what sort of car was it you were dealing with?
I know Colin rewired and tidied up his Targa Tasmania beast, how long did that take?
What's WTN mean? ???
spell mistake should have been WTK (want to know)
The easiest way (we did this with race motorbikes when we were young and foolish and didn't have the wiring diagram and didn't need lights or indiactors) is to run the engine and cut the wires one by one. If the engine (or tacho) doesn't die, you didn't need that wire, get rid of it.
Not saying that'll work on a 90, just saying.....
Or of course, you could just get hold of a wiring diagram. But that would be way too hard.
Hey Dehne,
I've got copies of some of the 90 wiring diagrams if you are interested.
