Title: Quick one re rear lights
Post by: shane wescott on June 19, 2011, 02:02:40 PM
Hi Guys

Before I break something, I need to check/replace my brake bulb on the dirvers side rear.

Took off the 4 white obvious screws that I assumed were holding it, but the cover still seems to be firmly attached to the body. I can see a couple of hex heads, but no real way of getting them loose.

Is it as easy as the manual suggests and do I just need to "Pursuade" the cover to come off.

Thanks

Shane

I have just looked at my spare rear lights. There is 6 no. plastic "screws". 2 rows of 3.

Yes.

Another Case of me making a simple job complicated.

Of course the tail light assembly is on the outside of the car and comes off when you take off the 6 plastic nut thingies.

I was of course trying to get the cover off from inside the car :-(

Lights checked, needed a clean and an electrical lube - no blown bulb.

Thanks Guys

I had a lights cover that was really badly stuck - the sealant had gone hard and would not budge no matter how much persuasion I used. I eventually got it off with a hair dryer used as a heat gun. It just softened the sealant and then could work it off.
