Post by: yeahSCOTTT on June 17, 2011, 11:14:47 PM
would it be possible to put the wheel with stereo controls into a 2003 or earlier 156? has anyone done this before?

The steering wheel with buttons was first seen in 2002 on the 156's that had color coded mirrors and bumpers, these had a different electrical system to the 1st 156 series which had a conventional electrical system, where the 2002 on had what they called a CANBUS system, the 156's with the button steering wheels mostly had Blaupunkt head units and there is a bit off chat on the forums about when you upgrade from a Blaupunkt to something better, you need some sort of adaptor kit so the steering wheel buttons work with the upgraded head unit, so while it would most likely fit, i don't know whether the buttons would work, Colin.

You could buy an aftermarket stereo and sticky-tape the remote control to the steering wheel  :D
