Title: Rebuilt 2.5L 12v V6 for sale
Post by: AlexR on May 23, 2011, 12:53:50 PM
So I found myself with a spare, fully rebuilt 2.5L V6 from an Alfa 90. It has receipts for work done less than 20,000kms before it was pulled from the car. Total on receipts is close to $5k.
Considering the work done and the cost of rebuilding one, I'm trying to get an idea of what's it worth. I was thinking somewhere around $1800, considering the cost of parts. If you think that this is unfairly high, please tell me.

I drove the car briefly when it was still intact and it pulled really well. It was quicker than my GTV6, even with the taller gears. It has a leak from the timing belt tensioner, which is the only component that wasn't touched, apparently. Cambelt was done as well. Alternator is currently off the motor, but can be included on request.

It has been stored covered in a dry environment and has fresh oil in it.

Cheers,
Alex

EDIT: Motor gone.
