Title: revs stuck on nord
Post by: Storm_X on May 01, 2011, 04:43:49 PM
Hi all i just put a set of custom after market style cams marked 4140 into my nord yesterday replacing my 10548s.

After putting the cams in the car, it started up but would not idle. I took it for a fair drive last night and it was driving fine.

This morning the car would not start without my foot on the accelerator stuck down, now when i go to decelerate the revs take a very long time drop down and then the idle is high.

Does anyone know what the problem could be at all ?

Thanks Chris

Hi Chris,

You have to re-tune when changing cam profiles.

Swapping to a more agressive profile will also accentuate any pre-existing intake issues. Might be worth checking rubber carb mounts.

Car running a little warmer or pinging at low rpm under load ?

I took it to Lloyd at start today and he played around with it.

It now idles at 1000/1100rpm once fully warm. Seems to cough and splutter as picking up revs now and then. I just hope it start up ok when its cold.

If im not happy the 10548s are going back in.
