Hi all - just wondering what the options are for retractable seat belts. The original ones look great but are a right pain in the as*!!!
Autopro want to charge me about $110 for each retractable belt but the ones at alfaholics seem to be a direct fit and are half the price: ( http://www.alfaholics.com/2010/07/seat-belts/ ). Has anyone purchased the alfaholics belts - or have an alternate local option?

I'm also looking for options on this topic. For what it's worth after looking around a bit the retractable units are probably my choice - there are the original sash fixed types but technology and safety has come a long way since the 60's. At least you know these are a direct fit - no mucking around and they themselves use them. I will soon have for sale a set of blue Willains harness type lap harness units for anyone who might want them.
Some GTVs don't have room for the seats to go all the way back if you fit a reel type belt on the floor. Check that first. The South African GTVs were fitted with riser plates, and I have a pair of those for sale. PM for details.
If you do buy reel units, you'll find they need to be mounted at a 10 degree angle to get a straight pull. This may be enough to activate the mechanism, so make sure the belts will unreel properly. The first pair I tried didn't, especially when parked on a slope. It's also possible to special-order units that can be mounted up to 45 degrees from vertical, but in either case, you're unlikely to find bargains in Australia. They're heavily regulated and the manufacturers know they have you by the short and curlys.

Just a thought: keep in mind that for roadworthy/insurance compliance here, you may need belts with an Australian design approval number. I know that until at least a few years ago this was the case, unless it has been superseeded by some international standard now.

The guys at Maranello Motors sorted me out with belts and custom mounting brackets. From memory, it didn't cost me a fortune though what price do you put on safety?

Bruno at Maranello fitted Klippan K1512 retractable front seat belts to my 105 Berlina. Aust Standards AS2596, ID3098.

OK thanks all. Checked out the relevant Aust standards and they are AS2596 as you say Gordon. Got a few more quotes locally but still at least twice as much as the UK for a compete set (i.e two front retractable and 2 rear non-retractable). With the exchange rate being so good I ended up purchasing some from the UK. They conform to Aust standards, arrived in 4 days, and fit in a few minutes. really easy to install & work perfectly ;D thanks again Lance
