Here's a link to some classic shots of Lakeside's first race meeting on March 19, 1961. The pics were taken by Brisbane photographer Brier Thomas, who shot every race meeting at Lakeside from the inaugural 1961 meeting through to its temporary closure in 2001. I know its a bit off the Alfa topic, but I've thoroughly enjoyed going through this guy's collection as I've researched the history of the old track. Cheers.
