Title: Do alfetta wheels fit on a sprint?
Post by: Fetta GTV on March 04, 2011, 10:55:36 AM
Hi All

Do alfetta wheels fit on a sprint?
I know they are both 98 but are their clearance issues

Cheers
David

Fetta, A standard wheel will, but an aftermarket wheel would be on a case by case basis.

They do 'fit' but the offsets can be different which causes weird handling and steering feel and not to mention Alfetta wheels don't look right on Sprints as do Sprint wheels look wrong on Alfetta's, Colin.

Std offset for a 33 std (5.5 x 14) rim is 39mm. The campagnatura45 (sic) 15" x 6" alloys that were fitted to later model 2l alfettas offset is 45mm.  That actually gives more rim to the centreline of the car as it were, or even more pos (or FWD usual) offset. I found that surprising when I discovered it as RWD cars normally have less offset than FWD's do.
Centre bores, 58.1mm; PCD 4 x 98 are both compatible. Have seen the above on a car (33 1.7 carb) on ebay, looked okay.
There are usefull sites around if you bing/google "Wheel PCD Chart" with various makes specs. Though do cross reference as they sometime give conflicting info...carlsalter.com for example.

Thanks for the info
Just ideas at the moment, would like to be able to share a set of track tyres between the sprint and alfetta
more focus on the sprint being the track car though
