Title: Tuning a carburetor
Post by: 1300-GT-Junior on February 22, 2011, 05:45:01 PM
I have had my carburetors reconditioned, I belive that they may be solex, not webber (I can confirm this if it is important).

However the car is not idling correctly.

My question is, is that besides the obvious (tuning the screws etc and other things I don't understand) is there anything specific he should be looking out for?

I believe he is using 91 octane unleaded? Would it make a difference to put 98 through the car?

Any help would be greatly appreciated - I apologise in advance for the vague nature of my question, even general hints and tips would be appreciated.

Cheers

Oh I should add that I don't believe that he has that carburetor airflow tester readily accessible.
