Hi,
I am going to be moving interstate from Sydney to Brisbane. So I need to transport the beloved 2000 GTV as I think it might be pushing the old girl a bit too far to drive not to mention the cost in petrol!!!
My investigations have so far turned up that it isnt a great idea to send it by rail as hot brake dust gets imbedded in the paint work ( no thank you!!). Does anyone have any thoughts, experiences or recommendations for good car movers.
cheers

As far as I'm concerned there's only one worth using .... www.uniquecarcarriers.com.au - I've used them 3 times from Brisbane and Sydney to Melbourne. They transport specialist cars from Maserati to Rolls Royce to Ferrari and even 105's ! down the east coast of Australia between Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. They offer a drive on - drive off service in a fully enclosed prime mover which carries just 3 cars and they provide a door to door service - literally - no depots ! The truck is as clean as an operating theatre - they use one dedicated driver who takes every rest stop they should while travelling - so no tired drivers who fall asleep at the wheel and write off your treasured vehicle. Speak with Lee (female) ... I cannot recommend them highly enough though you will pay more for their quality service. See the attached photo of my 105 coming off the truck at Port Melbourne after a trip from Brisbane. It was accompanied by a Bentley Continental and a Maserati. Hope this helps ... MARK
Hi Mark,
perfect!!! Thank you, just the info I was after. As much as I love my Alfa I wouldnt mind if they accidentally dropped off a Maserati at my house instead.
thanks mate. I shall call them tomorrow

For the sake of comparison....I used Door to Door Car Carrying for a Brisbane to Melb trip. They are based in Brisvegas Ph. 1800 366 723.
I can add a vote for unique car carriers. I have used them twice and brilliant.
Thanks guys.
I called Lee at Unique Cars today and I must admit I got a good sense of reassurance and quality service. I am sure they arent the cheapest but for me the level of care given to the cars mitigates that cost and minimises any risk and hassle factor if something did go wrong. Of course I havent used them yet but combined with the testimonials here I think they have to be a shoe in.
thanks to everyone who made suggestions.
cheers
