Title: Queensland Flooding
Post by: Stuart Thomson on January 11, 2011, 03:32:28 PM
Hi All,

I'm now stuck in Chinchilla after coming up here last Friday.

I took my video camera this time, so here's a short video of our adventures.

Won't be at the BBQ tomorrow night :-(

Cheers

I just had to leave work in West End, Brisbane. We are about 100 from the river(at the moment) and looks like our lower level will go under if it is as bad as the Premier just predicted. Higher than the 74 floods she reckons.

Stay safe Derek.  I hope your home is not in the same situation as your work.

Thanks Phil, my place is high and dry. Might be taking in a few friends soon though as their place will go under.

I just read a headline that said "XXXX brewery in Brisbane may be flooded, but supply will not be affected"

While I dont want to make light of a business that got flooded....however, will supply not be affected because XXXX is muddy undrinkable water anyway??!!

Luckily, as the water here in now undrinkable, they have plenty of beer.

Also the local RSL has Tooheys Old, rather than the XXXX stuff, I'd rather get gastro than drink that.

It's fun brushing your teeth with beer though  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Cheers
