Title: Montreal needs tuning...looking for mechanic with experience
Post by: tomoxl on January 11, 2011, 12:45:25 AM
Hello,

I have just purchased a 1974 Montreal.

The tuning has been off.  It idles well when cold, but at running engine temp the actuator kicks in and the motor stalls.

I'm looking for a mechanic who has tuned a Montreal before.  Should be a reasonably straightforward job for someone who knows these rare species...but an expensive education for those who don't...

I'd greatly appreciate any advice for around the Melbourne area.

Don't know where you are located but Hugh Harrison @ Monza Motors Bayswater 9729 9946 or Bruno Colautti @ Maranello Motors Brunswick 9386 9650 would be your best starting point.

These guys are Alfa Specialists and know the cars.

It has previously been mentioned that as replacement parts for the Spica fuel injection are difficult to find, the car is tuned to run well when cold OR hot but not both.

Hope to see you car out on the next club early morning run with one or two Montys.
