I need information does a cruise control box which is under bonnet and it is conected with a cable to a throtlle also regulates a kick down on the automatic gearbox via electric wires or what???
If not how does this kick down works,on which principle?
Nikola,
"I think" that the way most of these cruise control systems work is that they only operate the thottle.
Just the same as the driver only operates the throttle using the pedal.
Then in some manner, the cars 'systems' will initiate a kickdown in the transmission as required.
So a cruise control system should cause the transmission to kick-down, if it applies enough throttle.
More advanced systems (as used in current cars) often integrate with the transmissions electronic control box, and will also down-shift to help to stop the car from over-speeding when going down a hill. But I wouldn't think a Milano / 75 would have this capability.
Hope this helps,
Alan.
I found a cruise control and all it's elements in workshop manual and I understand a conection between cruise control and kick down.
I was more after a some explanation how this Milano kicks down when there is no steel cable for kick down which is ussualy on the other automatic car's connected to the gearbox?Maybe I didn't look good enough, but on the throttle there are only two steel cables. One for throttle and other for cruise control box.
Hmmmmmmmm.........???
I have a workshop manual form the milano in a book;the wires are off/resume", 2 wires- accset/dec set", and a earth under fuse box.
I also have the wiring diagram if you would like a copy then P.M me
cheers Shane
I have offered to send you photo copys 5 page for $1.50 +post

I figured all out 8).
Can you post your findings, for future reference? 8)
Agree with Sheldon - otherwise next time you have a problem......!

Cruise control box is only for cruise control.
Kick down is operating thru third steel cable which is hooked on throttle. So when You press full throttle steel cable pulls lever on auto gearbox for kick down.
