Title: door seal rubber
Post by: Sam on January 01, 2011, 10:19:32 PM
Hi everyone,

I want to replace the rubber door seals on my Alfetta sedan.

Clark Rubber have a similar profile, but theirs doesn't have the felt on it.

I guess an option would be to buy the seal and glue some felt on it, but before I go down that path I better ask in the forum if anyone knows where buy the original replacement rubber.

I tried searching the forum  but couldn't find anything, hence this post.

So does anyone know where I can get the original felt covered door seals from?

thanks in advance
sam

Sam, typically with ambient heat & pressure the glue utilized to stick the seal & felt together will squeeze-out and make a mess.

Try Scotts Old Auto Rubber in Melbourne. http://www.scottsoldautorubber.com.au/ALFA%20ROMEO%201972-84%20ALFETTA%20SEDAN.htm (http://www.scottsoldautorubber.com.au/ALFA%20ROMEO%201972-84%20ALFETTA%20SEDAN.htm)

I have bought some good rubber\felt seals from The Purple Pig and Bill Thomson Auto Rubbers, for the 33, Colin.

I'll have a look at the sedan. If they're any good you're welcome to them. I'll postagain tomorrow.

Cheers

Sam

If you're looking for the door seals, I have a set in usable condition. They've obviously been replaced at some stage & have been glued together, but are whole & quite flexible. They're yours if you want them. If what you need are the window scrapers, I also can give you a set of door cards (front & back) - some of the scraper rubbers are OK, some are the usual curly shape. Let me know & we can work out how you can get them; I'm in Wodonga but postage (on door rubbers) is possible.
PS I also have a free windscreen, in the car & brand new - all free, but be quick

Cheers
