Title: auto transmission
Post by: mickl on January 01, 2011, 10:26:00 AM
Hello there
My 2 litre berlina will need some auto transmission fluid soon and i am wondering what I should use.
I have some Castrol TQ D111 in the shed which was bought for a commodore. Is it OK to use?
And i guess I must carefully pour it down the small inspection tube...is that right?
regards
Mickl

Mickl,
The handbook states Shell Dexron or Esso ATF Dexron.
Top up the fluid thru the dipstick tube.
The complete transmission system holds 7 quarts. However you only use 4 quarts in a standard fluid change. The balance is in the hoses etc.

Mickl,
The 2000A supplement is only 8 pages (4 x A4). I could try and scan them for you. or copy and mail them. All I need is an email or postal address.

Andrew,
Sorry for the late reply. I tried to email the book to Mick and that did not work.
Send me an email  to ghellstn@bigpond.net.au
with your postal address and I will post you a copy.
