Does anybody have experience of CV joints for the 166?
My 166 has just started with a faint clicking on full lock, and my dealer is telling me that I can either have new ones or have mine re-manufactured, and I'm wondering which way to jump.
Try someone like the Italian Job or Monza Motors for another opinion.

That would be the "Advertisers" link on the Homepage ...

there is no other opinion.
the correct answer is: if you are planning on keeping the car and you want to properly fix it - new.
if you just wanna patch it up and onsell it... reco...
the 'remanufactured' part will not last. they simply repack the already damaged joint (clicking) with new grease and reboot, with maybe new bearings, but in time it will fail again. not worth the money.
Hello 166 owner, i have owned front wheel drives all my my driving [35] years and the c.v. joints always click on full lock due to the design, it is noticeable on sharp turns in carparks, however be concerned if they are noisy when turning corners and or driving straight ahead, check that one of the rubber covers [boots] have not split and have thrown out all the grease and it has run dry.
