Title: 147 Dash - stains under centre a/c vents
Post by: tony8028 on November 28, 2010, 10:52:46 PM

I use my A/C a lot and I am getting a white discoloration under the centre vents, on the actual dash.

I think its a condensation or something.....i have not tried to get it off with anything in fear of making it worse.

Its starting to annoy me and I dont want it to get any worse !

Any ideas ?

2003 Man 147 (not that it probably matters in this case).

Is that a sign of leaking refrigerant ?

I would think more likely someone has for some reason put too much cleaning fluid or something in the system.

Maybe there was an accidental spillage and the vents/hoses needed to be cleaned.

Tony how did you go with this?

I've got a 2006 147 GTA and have noticed a similar issue except with the right and left vents (middle vents are fine).... ?

i ended up using armor-all wipe (the non glossy type) and it came right off.
I was worried that it was actually changing the colour of the plastic but it was just a film wiped right off.
