Title: Useful Tools- One man hydraulics bleeder
Post by: MD on October 31, 2010, 06:06:41 PM
Spent half the night pumping pedals to bleed your rebuilt brakes or clutch with a mate instead of sinking some ales with a fishing line in hand?
Well here's a simple and cheap way out of  your hassles.
Make yourself a bleeder kit that uses your spare tyre to pressurise your system allowing you to bleed it by yourself.
Important to keep the pressure low to around 10PSI from the tyre otherwise it may cause the reservoir to pop of split.
How to use it
Fill resoir. Fit cap with tube. Connect tube valve lock to spare tyre valve. You brake lines are now pressurised. Start with the shortest brake line, fit bleeder tube and install into a collector bottle. Crack bleeder nipple and allow fluid to discharge watching for clear bubble free fluid. Tighten nipple . Move to next front caliper. Top up reservoir and repeat.
Top up and move to rear calipers. Fit both bleeder tubes to left or right calipper. Open both nipples together on the ONE caliper. Allow crap to flow out. Move to last caliper and repeat.
Be sure to continually check reservoir fluid and top up otherwise it will run out and fill your lines with air .!!!
Minor air residues usually work themselves out of the sytem over a few days so dont panic. Best of luck with it.
