Hi me again, I was wondering whether anyone has had the same problem, Sometimes when i start my alfa up it starts up but will not rev over 2000revs, so i just turn the car off and turn it back on it only happens rarely, but i was wondering if anyone else has this problem is there a fix for it eg: something to do with the starter motor. Or is it just one of those Alfa things :D , it doesnt worry me but i would prefer to get rid of it all together.
Thanks
Dale.
hrmm, it's odd that it happens rarely... has it been increasing in frequency?
usually such problem points to AFM, or camshaft sensor or similar... if it's a once off error perhaps there's a connection problem to the sensor and restarting works...
alternatively is your 156 drive by wire? throttle reset may be in order...
how does it behave exactly when it hits 2k rpm?
i occassionaly have this problem when i haven't turned off the immobiliser properly, could be related.
It hasn't increased in frequency, it happens very rarely. Maybe a stupid question but what is an AFM? I wouldn't think my '99' 156 is drive by wire?
and all it does when i start it up is it pops and bangs and runs a little rough then it slowly revs up but wont go past 2000revs, it is weird?
