Title: tuning
Post by: johnnyc on September 18, 2010, 09:00:05 AM
hi all,

recently took delivery of my 75 3.0.  for reasons which arent clear at the moment it is running (and sounding) like a massey ferguson tractor. rough as guts and bugger all power.

car is with mechanic for rego purposes. once registered and back on the road I will need to address why it is running like a three legged dog.

can anybody assist???  what do I need to look at to try and solve this problem. not happy.

If it's at a mechanic, there opinion on a course of action would be valuable.

From here, it sounds like it's not using all 6 cylinders..

brad, i suspect you are right. the mechanic who has the car is not, i suspect, a bloke who knows alfas inside out. i will have to find another who specialises in alfas, probably monza motors or beninca.

another problem the headlights throw out less light than a candle. what options are there to improve that ie new globes, re-wiring etc?

cheers

You just need to find a mechanic who knows L jet if you aren't comfortable working on it yourself, L jet is fundamentally the same no matter which car it is on.
There could be a lot of small things all contributing.
