hi all,
I have a 30mm swaybar. I would like to fit ,I have replaced the trans hanger bush and to do that I had to disconnect the hand brake
and drop the back of the trans ,putting it back the bolt is ok but rejusting the handbrake was tricky.
So is there a way i can side it out by taking a shock of or the sping this any one do this to get it out??
Cheers :)

I think i put one in once without taking the transaxle out. It was a real pain though. Will be even trickier with a bigger bar.

Hi Alphie,
I have changed the sway bar on the back of Alfetta GT and GTV without removing the Trans but I probably did it on the hoist which gives you a lot more manouverability to get the bar out and in.
As far as the handbrake goes I am sorry if I am telling you to suck eggs but you did adjust the pistons to give 4/6 thou clearance between pad and disc before tensioning the cable didn't you?.
Cheers
Andrew

You have taken the 19mm bolt out i assume? Also, is there enough length in the flexible brake line without undoing it? I don't know the answer, just something to consider. Next i would be supporting the transaxle on the jack, and lowering it to a workable height. If you're not getting to this stage pretty easily you have probably done/haven't done something very wrong.

Oh yeah, and keep in mind the whilst you are lowering the rear of the transaxle you will be twisting and stretching the front mounts. So don't lower it more than you need to.

HI ALL,
I think it mite be the mounting point is crimped on to the bush and yes i have a jack in place .
i have removed the spring and the shock on the L/side i have got the s/bar over the exhaust system
but it is stuck on the bush mount and the body for the car .
