Hi Guys,
I've been wanting to put a wider tyre on my 147 GTA (standard is 215 width and can't fit a much wider tyre on the alfa rim) to try and get some more of it's power to the tarmac, so I have been looking around at some aftermarket wheels.
I'm finding it very hard to get an aftermarket wheel of the right fitment and am hearing that the GTA is an absolute bi&ch to find rims for.
They're a high offset as standard (+41) and I'm wanting at least an 8.5inch wide rim. Stud pattern is 5x98
I can find those wheels, but the trouble is the Brembo's on the front are so massive that the wheels I find won't fit on past the brake calipers... GRRRRR
Can anybody point me in the right direction? Anybody done it to theirs?? If so send over some pics =)
Did you use a certain dealer? Certain manufacturer?
Cheers in advance for the help guys.
Joe
Hey Joe, I just saw some monster BBS on a GTA this afternoon
Try OZ wheels
http://www.ozaustralia.com.au/
8 x 18" or 9 x 18" wheels, 5 x 100 PCD, use wobble bolts to fit.
Don't know of the off-set.
Some good looking wheels there, Ultraleggera!!!
Hey Joe,
BBS CH rims are an option, I've seen em on a 147 GTA and an Alfa GT as well. Look fantastic
Heres a link to alfaowner.com where someone asked the same question

Here a pic of one with Sportec rims so there must be options out there
Let us know how you go

You don't say whether or not you have a Q2 diff? If not, I imagine that would be far more effective than wider tyres at getting your power to the tarmac. Probably cheaper too.

Yes got the diff mate but thanks for asking.
And cheers to all for the tips so far I'm at least looking in the right direction.
