can anyone suggest any places to buy front shockies for my 156 in SEQLD ?
or alternatively part numbers for them or equivelants like monroes ?
hit a pot hole (more like a pot canyon) the other day and the front right is now sitting about an inch lower than the left and the front right sounds like a squeaky bed when doing the business , you can even feel it through the pedal
I got my crank angle sensor changed at Avanti Spares they're on Toombul Rd, Northgate.
I'd reccommend them for your front shocks cause they bent over backwards to get me back on the road ASAP.
I got Konis for mine from Spinning Wheels in Sydney. - Transform the car.
i'd bought koni yellows (sports) from alfisti (online) because it was quite a fair bit cheaper for my old 156 (and now they're on my 147 as I didnt' get to fitting them at all). It's a fair biit of a difference between the new standard shocks and the konis. Handles worlds apart!
Not sure if your local chapter has any sponsors that could do you a good deal?
Many good reports with Koni yellows for 156.
Try Alfamotive in Brisbane who are knowledgeable.
Cheers
Are we sure it's the shocks, pretty sure they wouldn't change the ride height - just the ride.
I'd be looking for something more obvious like a bent wishbone, broken spring.
JohnFrench did my 156's clutch - so go to Automotive or Avanti
Squeaks are more than likely wishbone bushes (upper/lower), rattles are usually the drop links or bushes o the antiroll bar. If you can afford it just buy it all in from whichever UK supplier is cheapest today (and now is the time to buy strong A$) and fit it at home. Everything, except the ARB, is doable at home by a novice.
Makes a huge difference
Hi.
Shocks don't hold that car up....I'd say you bent something.
I have Koni Yellows (top adjustables) & they are better than factory.
On the soft setting they are more comfortable ride than factory.
I also upgrade the springs to Koni sport (lowered approx 30mm).
Ride is firmer but not that much more than factory when the shocks are set on soft.
I got mine supplied for around $1300 (Shocks & Springs). Pedders will charge you $300 + to install them.
Hope this helps.
Thnaks for the replies guys , and sorry for not getting back , been a busy last couple of months
It ended up being the lower control arm , all is fixed , two new lower control arms and some connector bits for the roll bar, all is sweet now :)
