Hi all,
Here is what I think is a weird one. :P
I don't want to fit a head unit to my 105. Does anyone know of a unit; an amp I guess, which an iPod can be attached to and play music through the car's speakers? The iPod would be used to control track selection, volume, etc..
Essentially, I would like to find something which can be hidden. I don't want to spoil the interior with a stereo, not even one of those iPod compatible retro looking units.
Does anyone know if such a beast exists?
Cheers,
Marco.
It would be possible. An amp which has RCA inputs would do it. Just use a 3.5mm to RCA cable.
I'm unsure on a suitable amp though.

Try this.
Quality won't be as good, given it's a radio signal, but should do the trick. For $10, i reckon it's worth a shot.
I use a higher quality one of those things and it's okay, just needs regular retuning if you're travelling any distance at all to maintain quality.
Or you could try something like this....http://jalopnik.com/5471523/connect-an-ipod-to-your-beaters-theft+deterring-radio-with-a-wired-fm-modulator/gallery/

Thanks for the help guys but what I want to do is not install any radio/stereo in the car. I probably didn't explain this clearly.
Anyway, leveraging the power of Google, I found some options but will do more research.
It seems our friends in the clan of motorcycle riders thought of the same thing.

No doubt, completely crap but may do the job.
I love Google. I still hate Fista.
When you said that you wanted to play it through the car's speakers I just assumed you had some kind of sound device already plugged into the speakers. Silly me, I should have taken your post as literally as possible. +_)&*(*&^*&*^&@#%@#% That's the sound of me hitting myself in the head to protest my own self ignorance. Hope that's enough, cos it's fucken hurting and bleeding over here.
Riddle me this. What plays iPod music in a car but is not a head unit? Obviously it's a fucken iphone isn't it? Just put some fucken headphones on. Poof.
Ohhkaaaaaaaaaayyy :)
Point 6 in the item listing should be the major selling point
"6.It has flash rainbow light in the front panel and very beautiful at night."
Its Mr.Poof to you.
Poo head.
Anyway, how can I be expected to use headphones when I am holding my mobile phone to my ear while driving at excessive speed.
Duh.
Mmmmmmmm. Flash rainbow light.
Nice.
Yeah shes a bloody beauty make

I'll give you a report on it's quality Matt, for $10 and free shipping I agree with you so I bought one. I needed something like this for the tow rig I may have just bought (shhh) ;)
The Ferrari Scuderia Spyder 16M doesn't have a radio, it comes with a customised iPod that clips into the dash. So stop dicking around with cheap aftermarket gadgets and buy a Scud.
Problem solved. Thank you and goodnight.
;)
Here is the answer, and it will fit neatly on you back parcel shelf. Also you have the option of carrying it too.
(should give me a couple of extra seconds on you at P.I.)
What? Are you sick of the twin cam symphony ?

Not at all. However, on those trips to Winton or Phillip Island, its more wind noise I am subjected to. A few choones might make the trip more enjoyable.
the answer is easy if you run an amp in the boot which is connected to ur speakers all you then need to do is run a connector from yout ipod to the amp, remembering that ur ipod is then classed as the head unit, running ur cable from the headphone jack is essentually the same as running from the unit also you could check in with someone like dicksmith or jaycar as they might have an adaptor that rune fron the bottom of the ipod
Cool. Thanks for the help.
Cheers,
Marco
