Title: Muffler for 156 V6
Post by: Josh on May 17, 2010, 11:30:02 PM
Hi all,

I have recently purchased a 156 V6, and I am thinking of changing the muffler.

I am thinking whether I sould get SUPERSPRINT or REMUS.
( just purely looking for sound here but not performance gains)

I want something that is not too loud but also not too quite, and it has a deeper and basely note.

can anyone please give me opinions and suggestions, which one suits what I am looking for.
I would appreciate if someone can describe their sound at Idle, low rpm and high rpm too.

I Have called Alfa specialists for suggestions and they have also recommended me either SUPERSPRINT or REMUS, so its a very hard decision to make.
Cheers!!

Josh

You could try these guys....http://ausalfa.com/   I believe they're the ones to go to for sound rather than performance gains.  (Love your work guys)

Have you tried looking at YouTube searching there under Alfa Romeo 156 V6 Supersprint.

May give you some real indication of what is best.

Nothing wrong with that if that's what you want, but as Sheldon says you'll probably get a better reception at ausalfa.com for help with this sort of thing. One of the guys there was selling a near-new Ragazzon rear muffler a few weeks back so it may be worth searching for that.

Another common mod for the V6 is to remove the centre muffler and replace it with a straight-through pipe; apparently achieves something close to what you're after (slightly louder & bassier).

Good luck
