Hello.. i do have a problem on my 166.

when i start the engine,,,,RPM gauge shows just bit more than 1000rpm,,,which is not good..

it happens nearly evertime.

and when i change gear to DRIVE Mode, the car try to accererate by itself (foot off from gas)

LET me know what i need to do.

i hav cleaned airfilter and box.

also cleaned with chemical to clean the tholtle body.(Mechanic did it)

Please tell me what i need to do.

Have you brought it to an Alfa Romeo specialist? They should know what the problem is and rectify it.

Try going here to see a list of Alfa Romeo specialists and find one that is suitable for you

Sounds like a MAFI (mass air flow sensor), happened to me some years ago. I sourced one on eBay, fitted it myself and the car has been great ever since. should cost you around $200.

Err, isn't that what all 'auto' cars generally do?  ???
