Title: GTV Secondary Bonnet Catch and 4 or 3 point harness for club sprints
Post by: jayarr on April 27, 2010, 10:47:15 PM
Hi,

can anyone provide some advice (and pictures if available) for constructing a secondary bonnet catch for a 1998 Ph1 GTV? Ditto for ideas for mounting point for a 3 or 4 point harness? Please note that this is a daily driver, both the catch and harness mounts ideally would be fully removed after events.

Thanks.

Avaiable at Bunnings from memory but I don't have a photo to show. It is nylon webbed belt attaching to two of those plastic clips of the type that you find on backpacks and inside some suitcases....I know, a crap description. Belts are about 20-30mm wide.

One end ties to the bonnet reinforcement, or you could screw it in, the other end somewhere through the front then up behind the bumper.

Close the bonnet, clip the two ends together, then pull the belt to tighten.

Thanks Andrew.  Neil from the club suggests that in all likehood, the standard bonnet fastenings should suffice for the supp regs, however offered the same suggestion as yourself with regard to a trip to Bunnings.
