Title: Giulia Sprint Restoration
Post by: boomerang147 on April 25, 2010, 09:11:29 PM
Hello,
I have had some progress on the Giulia.. Have pulled the head off and sent to local head workshop for facing, new inlet valves, seals etc. Reinstalled head myself and have the engine running reasonably smoothly after having to adjust the points and rotating the distributor. Attempted to use timing light but wasn't able to see the marks properly (borrowed el cheapo timing light)
Cut out rust in floor and welded in repair sections. Am about to look for some black carpet to do floor. Have also done some rust repairs to LHS of car as well.
Just took the car for a test drive around the block and after hearing some nasty scraping sounds discovered that my 19 month old son had put a 1/4" drive socket through the wheel holes which had landed between the brake disc and rotor!
One problem is night driving.. the instrument backlights dont work with the exception of the oil temp. Are these easy to replace?
Nick

Hi Nick
I've never had the pleasure of replacing dash/instrument lights but just wondering if you have checked/played with the dimmer adjustment...you may find some joy (unless of course bulbs have blown)
Cheers
